SCRIPTURE: But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:15.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The closer you get to God, the more tender and compassionate you become toward others.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2024 MESSAGE:

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that love can grow; a person can grow from one dimension of love to another. Now, how can we grow in love? What can we do to grow our love to higher levels and experience greater manifestations of love in our lives?

Closeness or Intimacy with God
Closeness or intimacy with God is a critical pathway to growing in love. You can progress from one level of love to another as you get closer to God. 1 John 4:8 says: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. Proverbs 13:20 adds: He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. So, if walking with the wise makes a person wise, then walking with God—who is love—transforms a person into a reflection of God’s love. It is impossible for someone to be truly close to God without loving others. For example, Joseph’s closeness to and intimacy with God were key to his ability to love and care for others. Genesis 39:2 says: And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

Because the Lord was with Joseph, Joseph demonstrated love and compassion for others, even while he was in prison. He served his fellow prisoners, interpreted their dreams, and helped answer their questions. His love for others was a direct product of his intimacy with God. The truth is, the closer you get to God, the more tender and compassionate you become toward others. Intimacy with God allows His love nature to be transferred into your life. As you get closer to Him, your capacity to love and care for others will increase. Beloved, prioritize your relationship with God so you can grow in love. Spend time in His presence, cultivate intimacy with Him, and allow His love to transform both your life and your relationship with others. As you walk closely with God, your love for others will naturally increase.

Remember this: The closer you get to God, the more tender and compassionate you become toward others.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make up your mind to develop a deeper intimacy with God.
2. Let the love of God in your heart overflow to your love for others.

PRAYER: Father, I ask that You draw me closer to You. I receive the grace to love others, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
