SCRIPTURE: Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Jesus carried your sins and sicknesses so you can be holy and healthy.

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2023 MESSAGE:

Sometime ago, I came across a law called the Law of Double Jeopardy. When I researched it, I realized that it was part of the Fifth Amendment of the American constitution.

This law says that no one shall be put in jeopardy of life twice for the same offence. That is, if someone committed an offence and he has been punished for that offence, he is not permitted to be punished for the second time for the same offence.

Or if punishment has been meted out for an offence, there is no more punishment for the same offence. The law prevents an accused person from being tried again on the same or similar charges and on the same facts, following a valid acquittal or conviction. The law forbids or prohibits multiple punishments for the same offence.

Now, how does this apply to us as Christians? The wages of sin is sickness, affliction and death. At the point of death, Jesus seemed to have said: “I will pay the price for the sins of humanity – where humanity failed, I want to take their place and bear their punishment. Put all the sicknesses, afflictions and death of the people on me. Send me to hell on their behalf.”

So, Jesus carried your sins and sicknesses so you can be holy and healthy. And after Jesus had suffered and taken your sickness, will you allow the devil to put on you again what Jesus has already taken? No way!

This is the Law of Double Jeopardy. Punishment has already been meted out for your offence and so, you are not permitted to bear it again. We are not permitted to suffer what He suffered. We are not permitted to carry what He has already carried on our behalf. The Law of Double Jeopardy forbids it.

Remember this: Jesus carried your sins and sicknesses so you can be holy and healthy.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Go through today’s message once again.
2. Refuse to suffer the same suffering that Jesus had already suffered for you. Take your healing by force.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for sending Jesus Christ to suffer for me. On the basis of this light, I receive my healing and deliverance by His suffering and death on the Cross, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
